Experience @ US Foods 🚛🍳

In the summer of 2026, I joined US Foods as an Automation Quality Engineer Intern. I spent the summer working at the intersection of software development, quality assurance, and AI-assisted automation, helping make sure the systems businesses rely on every day actually work as intended.

One of US Food's mission is to be the undisputed best, and to me, making sure our software is reliable and high-quality to our customers, is a big part of that.

Some Highlights 🚀

1. AI-Assisted Test Development: I helped build an AI/MCP-assisted testing workflow using Cursor and Claude to translate feature requirements into structured test cases and automation prompts. This helped accelerate test development across six feature releases, bridging the gap between what developers planned to build and what we needed to verify. 🤖
2. End-to-End Testing: I created multiple automated Playwright tests spanning five business systems, validating data integrity throughout the application lifecycle. Working across different systems meant making sure information didn't just look right on one screen, but stayed accurate as it moved through the broader application ecosystem. 🔗
3. Regression Testing & Quality Assurance: Helped boost our core product's regression pass rate by 16% by implementing Selenium and Cucumber automation frameworks. I collaborated with development teams and used Jira to track defects, investigate failures, and help keep software releases reliable. 📈
